HOW TO ACHIEVE A NATURAL EYE MAKEUP LOOK
Knowing how to achieve a natural eye makeup look is a staple makeup skill and, once you've practised, can be used as the base for so many other different types of looks. We've put together a guide for you to achieve the perfect, natural eyeshadow look and how you can dress it up or down for any occasion!
CHOOSING YOUR SHADES
To get a natural eye makeup look, neutral, matte and warm tones are the way to go. This is because the aim is essentially to contour the eye and increase its natural definition, so you'd want to use neutral colour variations.
HOW TO ACHIEVE A NATURAL EYE MAKEUP LOOK
Our Naked Palettes are a great option for your natural eye makeup shade range, particularly our Naked Heat eyeshadow palette; this palette includes velvety-smooth amber neutral shades that are easy to blend and richly pigmented. We'll focus on the matte shades for this look to make it more wearable for every day.
STEP 1:
To begin, you'll want to prime your eyelids so that they're ready for eyeshadow application. Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion is the UK's no.1 premium Eye Primer* product for good reason, helping to ensure that your eyeshadow stays vibrant and crease-free with extra smooth application.
STEP 2:
Next you'll want to add a nude eyeshadow shade from the Naked Heat eyeshadow palette all over your lid with a flat brush that matches or is a bit lighter than your skin tone.
STEP 3:
Taking a small fluffy brush for blending, pick up a warm brown crease shade from the Naked Heat palette and gently tap your brush against the edge of the palette to remove excess fallout.
The shade that you choose here will be your transition shade, meaning that it creates a transition between the contrast of light against dark eyeshadow shades on your eye to make it appear more blended, seamless and natural.
So, it should be a bit darker than your skin tone to give a natural gradient effect. Use the fluffy brush to apply the shade into the crease of your eye and up towards the area below your brow bone.
STEP 4:
Next pick a darker shade on your fluffy brush and gently buff this into the crease of the eye, taking care not to apply too much product to ensure it stays natural-looking.
Using this same shade, you can also take a smudging brush and gently buff this into your upper lash line to create a subtle, natural eyeliner effect and make your lashes appear fuller.
STEP 5:
To complete your natural eye makeup look, apply our Wild Lash Mascara to lift and thicken the appearance of your lashes.
COMPLETE YOUR NATURAL EYE MAKEUP LOOK
The great thing about a neutral eyeshadow look is that it can be dressed up or down depending on what overall makeup look you might be going for! Read below for some tips on just how to do this.

DRESS IT DOWN
To keep your overall result natural-looking and more suited for everyday, first line the lips with one of our 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils and then apply a nude, warm lipstick.
Our Vice Lipstick is a great option for this with a super-pigmented, vegan formula; try out shades like Backtalk, 1993 or Oatmilk to get the perfect nude matte lip that brings your everyday makeup look together. Top it off with one of our Vice Plumping Lip Glosses for a shiny finish!
DRESS IT UP
To dress up your neutral eyeshadow look for the evening and make it more glam, add a classic, bold winged liner using our Perversion Fine Point Eye Pen. Then, opt for a bold red lip using our shade range from the Vice Lipstick collection, opting for shades like Bad Blood, 714 or Elote.
